No because I like FPTP and I think that we should focus on reforming parliament. The reason I think why electoral reform looks so appealing is because the parliamentary system does not function as it should. Of course FPTP looks terrible when you focus on the leaders campaign and the popular vote. If we focused less on the leader and more on the MP in parliament, and elections became more about the local candidate than the party as a whole, than I think FPTP is the best electoral system.

Now, if we want to keep the system as is, we need to legislate these changes (especially regarding the powers of the PMO and party leaders) and we should then look at electoral reform. If the majorty wants parliamentary reform, I would reluctantly accept a new form of elections providing again they reflect the composition of parliament and do not involve closed-lists.
